NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine

The admissions process at NYU Long Island School of Medicine is highly selective and holistic, designed to identify students passionate about primary care. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree and prerequisite courses in biology, chemistry, and physics. The MCAT is required, and only scores within the last three years are accepted. Applications are submitted through AMCAS, followed by a secondary application by invitation.

Additionally, NYU Long Island employs the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format to assess qualities such as communication, ethical reasoning, and empathy. NYU Long Island offers a rolling admissions process, which means applications are reviewed as they are submitted. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to apply early. The deadline for AMCAS applications is October 15, and secondary applications must be completed soon after being invited. NYU Long Island seeks students committed to the accelerated three-year program and residency in primary care disciplines, such as internal medicine, pediatrics, and OB/GYN. Upon acceptance, students are guaranteed a residency match in one of their selected primary care specialties at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island.

The school offers full-tuition scholarships for all students, relieving financial burdens and allowing them to focus on becoming leaders in healthcare. However, students are responsible for other costs such as living expenses, health insurance, and supplies. NYU Long Island also offers financial aid resources to assist students with these additional costs.
