The admissions process at the Jacobs School of Medicine follows a holistic approach, reviewing not only academic achievements but also applicants’ experiences, personal attributes, and commitment to serving diverse communities. To apply, students must first submit through AMCAS, followed by a supplemental application. Prerequisites include one year each of biology, physics, organic chemistry, and English, with labs. MCAT scores, taken within three years of the application date, are required, as well as letters of recommendation.

The admissions committee carefully evaluates healthcare experience, volunteer work, leadership roles, and any research involvement. Interviews are by invitation and provide an opportunity for applicants to discuss their motivation for pursuing medicine and their alignment with the school’s mission. Jacobs School of Medicine offers an Early Decision Program (EDP), where applicants can apply early with a guaranteed decision by October 1, allowing them to plan for other options if necessary.
