More About the Medical School

The admissions process at MSUCOM is holistic, evaluating academic performance, personal attributes, and professional experiences. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, complete prerequisite courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and English, and submit MCAT scores.

Applications are submitted via AACOMAS, followed by a secondary application. Candidates are also required to meet the technical standards for admission, which include abilities in observation, communication, motor skills, and intellectual functions.

The interview process is by invitation and includes a traditional interview format at one of the three campuses. MSUCOM uses rolling admissions, making early application beneficial.

The deadline for AACOMAS applications is December 1, with secondary applications due shortly afterward. Transfer students are not accepted due to the integrated nature of the curriculum. Additionally, background checks and drug screenings are mandatory prior to matriculation and clinical training.
