More About the Medical School
KYCOM’s admissions process begins with the AACOMAS application. Applicants are required to complete prerequisite courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and English. In addition, they must submit MCAT scores and letters of recommendation, including one from a physician (preferably a DO) and science faculty. After submitting the AACOMAS application, selected applicants will be invited to complete a secondary application and pay a non-refundable fee.
KYCOM conducts interviews from August through April on a rolling basis, with admission decisions made throughout the process. Early application is encouraged as the class may fill before the final deadline of March 1.
KYCOM focuses on applicants with a commitment to serving rural and underserved communities, as well as those with strong leadership and community service experience. The school evaluates candidates holistically, considering academic performance, healthcare exposure, and personal characteristics that align with the mission of osteopathic medicine.
